Have you ever wished you could travel around the world instantly? Did you ever want those pictures in text books to come to life? Have you ever dreamed of teleporting to some exotic dream location at the click of a button?

If you have access to the web, http://www.internetcameras.net/ can take you there right now! These live internetcameras update frequently. Some load a new picture hourly while others feature STREAMING VIDEO! What time is it now? You can watch the sunset in Hawaii, Australia, Africa,or the Carribean!

internetcameras.net is also very easy to use. You just click on the place on the map you want to see and you are transported there instantly! Live pictures form around the world are available right now at internetcameras.net!

Some of my favorite places include Hawaii, South Africa, Australia, and Germany. But the live mountain scenes really captivate me: Mt. Fuji LIVE, Mt. Everest LIVE, and (my all time favorite) the Canadian Rockies LIVE.

I like to check out the sunrise on Mt. Fuji just before12 noon (our time). The snow looks pink in the morning light. If you click on it at the wrong time of day, the picture may look black. That's because it's easy to forget that half the world is dark all the time! Don't worry, just click somewhere else.

I thought of the idea for this website while teaching my Special Education Geography class. I noticed that the internet was great for seeing LIVE pictures from around the world. I decided to collect these LIVE pictures and link them to a clickable world map! This site proved to be both educational and entertaining.

I have received several letters of encouragement from around the world. A visitor wrote, "What a cool site! I have a link to another world map type of site, but it's nothing like yours." and, "That's a great view of Mt. Everest I see right now, and your maps are very nice. The site is easy to negotiate and a lot of fun. I've already been everywhere I've ever lived and nearly all of the major places I've visited. I've even seen a place where my car broke down once!"

Some web cam owners even write that this is the best use of their live image that they have ever heard of. Others seem honored to be included in this educational endeavor. With few exceptions, such as for language barriers, internet camera sites from around the world glady give internetcameras.net permissionto use their live images.

internetcameras.net is still growing. There are over 200 live cameras featured on this site. The United States and Germany seem to have the most internet cameras, but places like Thailand and Moscow also have live cameras now.

http://www.internetcameras.net will expand, as technology grows to broadcast video speeds, where images reload so quickly it will seem like live TV. I feel like I'm riding the crest of the internet wave. I suppose it's like a hobby to me, but I love the educational and spiritual possibilities too.

Since I am a full-time teacher, it took a long time to build this site. I worked on it night and day at Christmas, Easter, and Summer vacations. I am so thankful to my wife, Debbie, for giving me the space to do this. I know that every minute I spent on this project is a minute I could have spent with her.

The main framework of this project is now complete. Praise the Lord!
